Unlike many beverage packaging industry options, our compostable cups for hot and cold drinks are entirely recyclable. Because we make our biodegradable cups with pulp or paper substrate, bamboo, or bagasse and coated with a bio-based compostable coating, you can do your part for the environment.
Our cups are uniquely industrial compostable and recyclable because we use a bio-based coating. We offer both single and double-side coated surfaces with water based, eco-friendly 6 color printing, so you can fully express your brand. To make a paper product suitable for beverages you must coat the products with a waterproof barrier. Historically, that was done with plastic based products that are not recyclable. Recently manufacturers have started to use PLA coatings that are industrial compostable. Unfortunately, that coating has proven to be contaminate in the recycle stream. With our unique construction of materials, we provide a product that can be industrial composted or recycled. Two great choices for the environment.
Our paper cups are food-safe, and can handle temperatures up to 239 degrees. Greener Shapes uses compostable materials that you can also recycle, offering your customers the flexibility to do their part for the world.
No. In fact, most compostable paper cups are not recyclable, and often act as a contaminate in the recycling stream. However, all Greener Shapes paper cups are compostable and recyclable.
If you’re lucky enough to live in an area where you have access to an industrial composting facility, please compost our package. If not, simply throw it in the recycle bin. Our products are recyclable in standard curbside recycling programs.
At Greener Shapes, we sell compostable paper cups in bulk and work with distributors to sell smaller quantities. We can custom design your wholesale paper cups with lids to ensure more brand recognition and eco-friendliness. Contact us for a quote! We would love to hear from you.
Yes, but so many factors affect the decomposition rate that it is best to send them off to be composted in an industrial composting facility. Uniquely, our compostable paper cups are also curbside recyclable, so please recycle these paper cups instead of throwing them in the trash.
In an industrial composting facility, it typically takes less than 90 days to decompose fully. Outside of commercial facilities, multiple factors like carbon, heat, and oxygen and due to this decomposition times will vary. If industrial facility is not close by, our compostable paper products can also be recycled in your curbside bin.
Compostable paper cups are designed to be disposed of at a specialized composting facility, or in the case of Greener Shapes’ paper cups, you can also recycle them. If you are lucky enough to have curbside composting bins, then you can utilize those. Not sure where to compost if you don’t have a bin? At the end, if you are still not sure or have limited options, you can always recycle Greener Shapes compostable paper products in your curbside bin.
